Every year Breast Cancer Awareness month is acknowledged in the month of October. Breast cancer
amongst women is on the increase and is one of the most common cancers experienced by women. However, early detection can lead to effective treatment. This month is dedicated to raising awareness of and informing on symptoms and treatment. At Parklands College our trees were covered in pink and learners were allowed to wear something pink with their uniform. We bought ice creams, baked goods and sweets for the Pink Bake Sale where we raised R4073 for Cansa, which is an organisation in the fight against cancer in South Africa.
